One evening, Ed headed out first, and had already gone 4 miles when Adam started his walk. How long after Adam started his walk will they have walked the same distance?

Answer:

  • Both will be at equal distance at 8 miles in 2 hours.

Explanation:

We know that:

  • Ed = 2 miles/hour
  • Adam = 4 miles/hour

Work:

  • Ed => 4 miles

Adam => 0 miles

  • Ed => 6 miles => 1 hour

Adam => 4 miles => 1 hour

  • Ed => 8 miles => 2 hour

Adam => 8 miles => 2 hour

Hence, both will be at equal distance at 8 miles in 2 hours.

Hoped this helped.
