using elimination method

2x + 3y = 6 -----(1)

-

x + 3y = 12-------(2)

———————

x = 12

substitute x as 12 into equation (1) or (2), let's choose equation (1)

2(12) + 3y = 6

24 + 3y = 6

collect like terms

3y = 6 - 24

3y = 18

divide both sides by 3 ( to make y the subject of formula )

3y = 18

— —

3 3

y = 6

therefore X = 12 and y = 6

Hope this helps eh

Good luck ✅.
