2y = -3x +8

2y = -5x +2

Divide by two

y= -1.5x + 4

y = -2.5x +1

set them equal to each other:

-1.5x +4 = -2.5x +1

Add 2.5 x to both sides

x +4 = 1

subtract 4 from both sides

x = -3
