Let the function be f defined by f (x) = 12 - 5x

(a) is it true that f (0) = 0 ? explain why or why not.
(b) evaluate f (-1)
(c) what value of a will make the equation f (a) = 6 true?

a) not true. when x=0 f(x)=12.
we know this because plugging in 0 for x leaves you w 12.
b) 17.
plug in -1 for x. -5(-1) is 5. 12+5=17
