Hi student, let me help you out! :)

First of all, let's find the area of the circle with the help of the formula
\mathrm{A=\pi r^2}, where A=area, π=pi, 3.14, and r=radius; the 2 above the radius tells us to multiply the radius times itself.

Now we realise we have a slight problem here. We have the diameter and not the radius!

No need to panic. We can divide the diameter by 2 and find the radius:


\mathrm{8/2=4}. Now we substitute 4 for the radius and solve for area:


\mathrm{A=\pi (4)^2}. Square the radius first:


\mathrm{A=16\pi }. Now recall that pi is 3.14:


\mathrm{A=3.14*16}. So the area is
\bigstar\underline{\boxed{\mathrm{A=50.24\:m^2}}}.
