Explanation:

Opposite sides of a rhombus are parallel, so by the alternate interior angles theorem, angle ABE measures 50 degrees.

Also, the diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular, so angle AEB is 90 degrees.

Thus, as angles in a triangle (in this case AEB) add to 180 degrees, x=40.
