x=-12
Explanation:
8x=3x-60
(Isolate the variables)
8x-3x=-60
5x=-60
(Divide by 5 on both sides)
5x/5=x and -60/5=-12
x=-12
(Then plugin -12 for x on the original equation)
8(-12)=3(-12)-60
-96=-36+-60
-96=-96
