(1)/(6) +(2)/(4)

Find LCM of 6 and 4 which is 12.

6*2=12

4*3=12

Do the same to the top parts of each part.

1*2=2

2*3=6


(2)/(12) + (4)/(12)

Now you can add them easily


(2)/(12) + (6)/(12) = (6)/(12)

Because 6 and 12 can still be divided by the same number (6) you need to divided it in order to get a simpler fraction.

6÷6=1

12÷6=2
