  • To find that we simply solve the system of equations
  • So make c the subject of the formula of equation 2

  • s+c=9\\c=9-s
  • Substitute in equation 1

  • 5s+3c=37\\5s+3(9-s)=37\\5s+27-3s=37\\5s-3s+27-(27)=37-(27)\\2s=10\\s=5 so that's 5 pounds of salmon
