Woman in hunter-gatherer communities had fewer children because it was to difficult to take care of babies while living a nomadic life. On the other hand, women in agricultural communities could have more children because as they lived in a seasonal villages. This change was one of the ways to which farming contributed to a rapid increase in human population.

Agriculture even produces food surpluses, which lead to the accumulation of wealth, the division of labor, the growth of the population, and the creation of social classes.
