First week: 1.34 Original Cost: 3.35

Explanation:

So you know how much the second week cost $1.34. So to find the first week you need to divide 40% with 100 to get .4, after getting .4 you need to get the second weeks cost and divide 1.34 to .4 and you get 3.35. That is your original cost. So when you divide 3.35 with .4 for the first discount of the first week you get 1.34

Sorry the second one is more confusing I just learned this last week so I'm sorry if I am wrong and I hope someone else follows on my answer.
