A 56 inch of pipe is cut into two pieces. One piece is 8 inches longer than the other. How long is each piece?

i believe one piece is 20 and the other is 36 because when you divide 56 by 2 it’s 28 and subtract 8 from 28 leaves you with 20 and adding 8 to 28 is 36.
