if someone could give me the answer on how to balance this equation with explanation that would be great.

Answer: 2Ag2O -> 4Ag + O2

Explanation: The reason why we balance is to make sure that the number of atoms are conserved on both sides. Since the reactants side has 2 silver atoms and the product side only has one, we can tell that the equation isn’t balanced. It is also observable that oxygen isn’t balanced. We can just trial and error. We can start by adding a coefficient of 2 to Ag2O and see if we can balance the products side. By adding a 4 to the Ag the chemical equation is balanced. Both sides has 4 Ag atoms and 2 oxygen atoms
