Explain in detail how would you plot the points –1, 5, –2.5, –3, and 2 on the number line. What is the order of the numbers?

Answer: -3, -2.5, -1, 2, 5.

Explanation:
The number line goes from the smallest number to the largest number. As an example you may ask why -3 is smaller than -1 even though it looks larger. This is because it actually isn’t since it is negative. When a number is negative, the higher the number are the smaller it is. One more example could be that -10 is smaller than -5.
