The call of the wild is a book written by Jack London in 1903. He based this and many of his other books on his adventures in the yukon. In the call of the wild a dog named buck is taken from his home and sold in the Yukon. He goes on many adventures and passes through many owners all in search of gold. He runs into an old man multiple times in his journey. the old man lives in the Yukon. Eventually, the old man saves Buck from an abusive owner. And buck moves in with him. Then the old man goes on an adventure of his own after hearing stories of an old cabin far in the woods with tons of gold. He takes and friend and they're off. They find the cabin and some gold. Buck has come to love these men dearly. But hen he hears "the call of the wild" or a wolf call he follows. at first, he stays out for a short while following and running with the pack but one day he is out for a whole day and when he comes back native Indians had killed his owners and were dancing around their bodies. Buck, enraged, mauls and them all. (He was a bear dog) Then he runs and becomes the leader of the pack he had live with. the natives remember Buck and have named him and watch for him. they tell old tales of him. Him running in the wild.
