Technology in the 1800’s were different because most people had to send crows and birds, but the birds often came late or after which made it difficult to get news on time. To notify, they could have sent someone but since traffic and other issues might have occurred back then, it was a hassle to be on time to deliver the news. Last, During war, the generals had to send soldiers back and forth from place to place and that made it slightly off because the the soldier says the wrong thing by mistake or mishearing it would be an issue that can make the wars even worse.
