The total number of students enrolled at Twin Rivers Middle School is 2,000

students. If the ratio of boys to girls is also 3 to 2 for the school, how many students
are boys and how many students are girls at Twin Rivers Middle school?

Answer:

1200 boys and 800 girls

Explanation:

since the ratio is 3:2 i just added the ratio to get 5 then divided that by how many total students there were giving me 400, then multiplied it by 3 for the boys and by 2 for the girls. giving me 1200 and 800

(sorry if this is confusing)

Add the ratios together: 3 + 2 = 5

Divide total students by 5:

2000 / 5 = 400

Multiply each ratio by 400:

Boys = 400 x 3 = 1200

Girls = 400 x 2 = 800
