You have 22 digs for your current volleyball season. There are 5 games left in the season. You want to break your previous record of 31 digs in a season. Write and solve an inequality that represents the number $x\ $ of digs you must get in the remaining 5 games to break your record

Answer:

The inequality is;

22 + 5x > 31

x > 1.8

Explanation:

The number of digs to break is 31

What is available at present is 22

and 5 games left;

So the inequality will be;

22 + 5x > 31

5x > 31 - 22

5x > 9

x > 9/5

x > 1.8

But since the number of digs cannot be fractional, then the number of digs per game must be greater than or equal to 2
