Matt is a city planner, helping Jamier design and build a laser tag facility in Spring Lake. The original plot of land was 100ft long by 33.33 ft wide. What is the percent increase in square footage if Matt was able to work out a deal with the landowner to expand Jamier's plot of land 300ft by 100ft?

Answer:

800%

Explanation:

Original area of land = 100ft * 33.33ft

Original area of land = 3333 ft²

Final area of land after expansion = 300ft * 100ft

Final area of land after expansion = 30,000ft²

Increment = final area - original area

Increment = 30,000 - 3333

increment = 26,667ft²

percent increase = increment/original area * 100%

percent increase = 26667/3333 * 100%

percent increase = 8.00 * 100

percent increase =800%

Hence the percent increase in square footage if Matt was able to work out a deal with the landowner to expand Jamier's plot of land 300ft by 100ft is 800%
