Diamond and graphite contain only carbon atoms, yet they are very different objects with very different properties. Why are diamond and graphite different?

Answer:

In diamond, carbon atoms are arranged in the equal distance to each other whereas in graphite carbon atoms aren't arranged in equal distance and loosely arranged.So, diamond and graphite are different.
