always remember rise by run. subtract the second y value from the first (9 minus 6) and the same with the x values (1-6). rise is y axis and run is x axis. therefore, you get 3/-5 or -3/5. (because 9-6 is 3 for the numerator and 1-6 is -5 for the denominator)
