4(x+4) = 3(x+6)

4x + 16 = 3x + 18

4x - 3x = 18 - 16

x = 2

hope it helps...!!!

Answer: x = 2

Explanation:

$$Solve for $x$ :$$(x+4)/(3)=(x+6)/(4)$$Multiply both sides by 12 :$$(12(x+4))/(3)=(12(x+6))/(4)$$$$\begin{aligned}&(12)/(3)=(3 * 4)/(3)=4 \\&4(x+4)=(12(x+6))/(4)\end{aligned}$$$$\begin{aligned}&(12)/(4)=(4 * 3)/(4)=3 \\&4(x+4)=3(x+6)\end{aligned}

$$Expand out terms of the left hand side:$$(4 x+16)=3(x+6)$$Expand out terms of the right hand side:$$4 x+16=(3 x+18)$$Subtract $3 x$ from both sides:$$(4 x-3 x)+16=(3 x-3 x)+18$$$$\begin{aligned}&4 x-3 x=x: \\&x+16=(3 x-3 x)+18\end{aligned}$$

\begin{aligned}&3 x-3 x=0: \\&x+16=18\end{aligned}$ \\\\\ Subtract 16 from both sides:$$\begin{aligned}&x+(16-16)=18-16 \\&16-16=0: \\&x=18-16\end{aligned}$$$$18-16=2$$Answer:$$x=2$$
