Question :- What is the
radius of the Circle.
Given in figure:-
- Two perpendicular from each segment in the Circle
- length of the perpendicular = 3cm
- length of the half of one of the line segments in circles = 5cm
To Find:- Radius of the Circle.
Formula used :-
Pythagoras theorem
H²= P²+B²
- H= hypotenuse
- P = perpendicular
- B = Base
Explanation:-
- Draw a line segment joining the O and B point .Line segment will be equal to the Radius as it will join the center and circumference of circle
Now In ∆OBM
- base = 5cm
- perpendicular = 3cm
- Hypotenuse= radius = x
Using Pythagoras theorem:-
H²= P²+ B²
Putting the value in equation
Answer:-
Radius =x= √34 = 5.83
