Answer:
If it was me I think I would go with Samurai
1. Samurais are obviously higher classmen than a knight. A knight is basically an infantryman being in the lowest. Samurai on the other hand is one of the higher classes in Federal Japan. Based on the social structure it's the Emperor ( the king), Shogun ( military dictator), Daimyo ( vassals of Shogun), Samurais, and then the lower classes like (farmers, artisans, peasants, etc)
So basically, in medieval terms, it's like cavalry against a knight.
2. Samurais are also experts in hand-to-hand combat situations. They used basic Judo, Jujutsu, Aikido, etc.
3. Samurais are expert marksmen in more efficient weapon uses than a knight.
Here are some of the lists I know what they use
Katana ( arguably the most iconic weapon used mainly this is the basic main weapon)
Wakizashi ( it's a shorter version of a Katana used in medium ranges or an extra sword in case of emergency)
Tanto ( it's shorter than the Wakizashi (more like a dagger) and it's basically the last resort of weapon uses)
Other classes of different samurai weapon
Naginata ( it's sort of like a long spear attaching a katana into a Bo staff)
Kanabo ( imagine like a giant baseball bat that was made to bonk the enemy's bones or even some of the plate armor)
These are the reasons why I would prefer to be a Samurai than a Knight.
and yes I am a person who learned more in-depth about Fedual Japanese era.
