Answer:R. The fortress-like abbey keeps the prince from knowing what is going on outside.

Explanation: Because this one talks about setting and the other choices don't. If you post the whole worksheet / all the questions it would be better.

Answer:

The backdrop of the “Red Death” makes death a very present reality.

Step-by-step explanation:

Based on the story, Masque of the Red Death, story is narrated of the Red Death which is a disease that makes people die quickly and badly.

The Prince of the town, Prospero organises a large banquet after a while, throwing caution to the wind and paints each room in the Palace a different color. In the last room there is an ebony clock that rings every hour which gives the Palace an ominous jingle each time.

During the party, a guest arrives who looks ghastly and like a corpse and as Prospero confronts him, he dies and so does everyone else in the banquet.

The setting of the story intensifies the grim mood makes death a very present reality.
