Given :-

AB = AC

Then :-

This triangle is an isosceles triangle .

Let x be the value of ∠CAB . Then, ∠ABC will also have the same value as ∠CAB , since∠CAB and∠ABC are both the opposite base angles of an isosceles triangle .

An equation to find ∠ABC and ∠CAB :-

= x + x + 60 = 180

= 2x + 60 = 180

= 2x = 180 - 60

= 2x = 120

= x = (120)/(2)

= x = 60

Which means that the measure of ∠ABC and ∠CAB both are equal to 60°, and this triangle is an equilateral triangle.

Therefore :-

It is given that AB = AC . Since two sides of the triangle are equal , hence it must be an isosceles triangle .

And we know that in an isosceles triangle two base angles are equal . So ∠ABC = ∠ ACB = 60° .
