Explanation:

Clients have ordered 48 yards of fencing for their rectangular garden bed.

Let the width is x and then length is 2x.

Amount of fencing required is equal to the perimeter of the rectangular garden i.e.

2(x+2x)=48

2(3x)=48

6x=48

x=8 yards

Width of the garden is 8 yards

Length of the garden is 2x = 2(8) = 16 yards

Area of a rectangle is given by :

A = L×B

A = 8 × 16

A = 128 sq yards

Hence, this is the required solution.
