Explain how solving -2x < -10 is different from solving -2x = -10.

For the inequality if you solve the equation you would get x > 5 (as the inequality is flipped when diving by a negative number) as an answer. Which literally means that for -2x < -10 to be true the value of x has to be greater than 5 and can be any number.

But in the case of the linear equation

for -2x = -10 to be true the value of x has to exactly equal to 5 and there are no more possibilities.
