Using Elimination Method:

2x + 9y = 11 \\ 3x + 8y = 18 \\ 3(2x + 9y = 11) =( 6x + 27y = 33 )\\ - 2(3x + 8y = 18) = ( - 6x- 16y = - 36) \\ 11y = - 3 \\ y = ( - 3)/(11) \\ 2x + 9( ( - 3)/(11) ) = 11 \\ 2x - 9( (3)/(11) ) = 11 \\ 2x - (27)/(11) = 11 \\ 2x = 11 + (27)/(11) \\ 2x = (121 + 27)/(11) \\ 2x = (148)/(11) \\ 2x / 2 = (148)/(11) / 2 \\ x = (74)/(11) \\ x = ( - 3)/(11) \\ y = (74)/(11)
