How would I find the x-intercept and the y-intercept for the equation: 6x+5y=−60?

Answer:

use the slope intercept form of the equation

y = Mx +b

Explanation:

6x+5y = -60

5y = -6x - 60

y = (-6/5)x -12

now just plug in zero for x in that above equation ... that will be the y intercept -12

and plug in zero for y and solve for x

0 = (-6/5)x -12

12= -6/5x

(-5/6)(12) = x

-10 = x
