Explanation:

According to Pythagorean theorem, square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of other two sides

a^2+b^2=c^2

Short sides-a and b

Long side=c

I will do number 1 for you as an example.

A=3

B=7

C=x

3^2+7^2=c^2

58=c^2

Dont forget to square 58

c=±√58
