Alan is making chili he is using a recipe that makes 24 cups of chili. He has a 5 quart pot and 3 gallon pot and is trying to determine whether the chili will all fit in one of these pots which are the pots will fit the chili.? Explain how you got the answer please.

Answer: 3 gallon pots.

Explanation:

Given data:

No of chili recipes = 24 cups

No of gallon = 3 gallon pot.

No of quart = 5 quart pot.

Solution:

First we convert the quart pot and gallon pot to cups.

1. 5quart cup

= 5 * 4cups

= 20cups.

2. 3 gallons pot

= 3 * 16

= 48cups.

Allan would be able to fit the 24 cup chili into the 3 gallon pot because it would be able to contain it all. Unlike the 5 quarts pot which can only accommodate 20cups of the chili.
