A long solenoid (1,093 turns/m) carries a current of 13 mA and has an inside diameter of 5 cm. A long wire carries a current of 1.9 A along the axis of the solenoid. What is the magnitude of the magnetic field at a point that is inside the solenoid and 1 cm from the wire? Write your answer in micro-tesla.

Answer: B= 1.3 ×10 −3T And B= 6.524×10^-4T

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Length of solenoid = 0.5m

Numbers of turns n=1093 turns/m

n=1093×0.5= 546.5 turns

Current I = 1.9 A

We know that,

Magnetic induction at the axis inside the solenoid

B=μ 0 Ni

B=4π×10 −7 ×546.5×1.9

B= 1.3 ×10 −3T

Now, the magnetic induction at one end on the axis of solenoid

B= μ0Ni/2

B = 4π×10 −7 ×546.5×1.9 /2

B= 6.524×10^-4T
