Someone has made a shade of green by using 17 ml of blue and 13 ml of yellow. They are sure it cannot be turned into the original shade of green by adding more blue or yellow. Either explain how more can be added to create the original green shade, or explain why this is impossible.

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

More can be added to create the original green shade by taking notes of the ratio of the ml of blue paint to yellow paint in the first mixture.

The ratio of blue paint to yellow paint that gives a shade of green is 17 ml to 13 ml.

For more to be added to create the original shade of green, it means for every 17 ml of blue paint added, you'd also need to add exactly 13 ml of yellow paint.

For whatever the amount you're adding, just maintain the ratio of the mixture.
