One leg of a right triangle is 21 centimeters long. The hypotenuse of the triangle is 29 centimeters long. What is the length of the unknown leg?

20 cm

Explanation:

A2 + B2 = C2

C is your hypotenuses = 29 cm

And one leg of a right triangle is 21 cm long

So we have A2 = (21cm)2 = 441 cm + B2 = (29cm)2 = 841cm

B2 = 841 - 441 = 400

B = √400 = 20

So the third leg of a triangle that has a hypotenuses of 29 cm and one side of a right triangle that is 21 cm long is 20 cm
