y = 3x + 28

Explanation:

Slope intercept form is y=mx+b. Because it is said that the line were looking for is parallel I can put in the same slope. Parallel lines always have the same slope.

Then plug in the coordinates to find the y-intercept.

4 = 3(-8) + b

4 = -24 + b

+24 +24

28 = b

So we know that b is equal to 28 so we can plug that in to get y = 3x + 28
