A Zoo keeps a tiger-to-lion ratio of 7:3. If the Zoo has room for 70 animals,

then how many of them can be tigers?

Explanation:

Let, there are 7x numbers of tigers

and 3x numbers of lions, where x is a proportionate constant.

Then by the condition,

7x+3x= 70

or, 10x =70

or, x = 7

so, tigers = 7×7= 49
