That base in particular with the according dimensions appears twice, meaning it can be calculated across both ways, whether it's flipped or not.

The area of the base is shown from the shape broken down: the rectangle's height (4) and the length (5) make 20 for that area, and the triangle's height (still 4) and base (8-5=3) divided by two is 6, 20+6=26.

the volume is just that 26 multiplied by 12, or 312. Or maybe 72, but probably not. try that if 312 doesn't work. I'm hungry right now, I can't think straight.
