It was a political campaign based on the belief that Germans, blue eyed, blonde, white, are the superior race and that everything else can basically go jump in a hole. Another example is Japan(WW2 Era), they believed that Japanese people were the superior race and that ultimately led to the battles in the Pacific between the US and Japan.
