When solving for area in irregular shapes it’s easier to break down the forgive into smaller shapes

For example, we know that the right bottom wall is 4m. This means that the gap in front of it is also 4m. Now that you can picture a 9x5 rectangle and a 4x4 square, all that’s left is to add up the areas

A(r) = 9 • 5 = 45m^2
A(s) = 4 • 4 = 16m^2

Total Area = 45 + 16 = 61 m^2
