Explanation:

The easiest first step is to get the area of the square first.

3*3=9

Then, to get the area of the triangles, multiply 1/2b*h, aka 1/2(4)*3

1/2(4)=2

2*3=6

Each triangle is 6 cm^2

There are 4 triangles, so multiply 6 by 4:

24cm^2

Finally, remember that square from earlier? Add that area to the triangles'.

24+9=33
