"You are a very special boy. Your country has a great

history. Be proud of your roots."
"Mother, I don't want to be different." Chi-Yin picked up
his glass and looked through it. Everything was blue again.
“The world is interesting because people are different.
Remember that, my son." Chi-Yin's mother took the glass
from the table. "Be proud of who you are and where you
come from. Because you are different, you are special."
Chi-Yin sat at the table in silence. He thought about his
mother's words. "I will remember, Mother. I'll try hard
to remember."
Chi-Yin smiled. "It was like colors," he thought. "A
rainbow of different colors was more beautiful than a
rainbow of just blue."

Do you think Chi-Yin’s mother gave him good advice? Why or why not?

Yes, because his mother taught him to look at the world not only from his own perspective, but also from other one. This will lead him to not judge a book by its cover and keep an open mind to others’ situations in the future.
