Can someone please explain to me Step by step how to get a point intercept equations to a standard form I'm still confused about it?

Explanation:

Slope-intercept form of a line is y = mx + b.

To convert to standard form, simply solve for b.

-mx + y = b

If m and b are fractions, you can simplify by multiplying by the common denominator. For example:

y = ½ x + ⅔

-½ x + y = ⅔

(-½ x + y) × 6 = ⅔ × 6

-3x + 6y = 4

Point-slope form of a line is y − y₁ = m (x − x₁).

To convert, first distribute the m.

y − y₁ = mx − mx₁

Then move the variables to one side and the constants to the other.

-mx + y = y₁ − mx₁

And again, you can simplify any fractions by multiplying by the common denominator.
