Explanation:

${x}^(2) + 2x - 2 = 0$

Now Adding three on both sides we get

${x}^(2) + 2x - 2 + 3 = 0 + 3$

${x}^(2) + 2x + 1 = 3$

${(x + 1)}^(2) = 3$
