The measures of two vertical angles are 29° and (2x + 3)º. Find the value of x .

Vertical angles are a pair of angles that are equal in degree measure.

Essentially, they are equal to each other. Nothing more to it.

This means that
29=2x+3!

I presume you have done math before, so this solves to be:
x=13
