What happen if lynxes go extinct

Then I will probably cry. No I'm kidding, well, not kidding. Whatever. If lynxes went extinct there would probably be a large gap in the food chain, resulting in several other extinction events, and possibly overpopulation. Rabbits would likely thrive, seeing as they are the lynxes main food source, and the rabbits would eat too many plants, causing there to be no plants for the other animals in that environment. Many issues would be caused, and I will probably have a mental episode, because lynxes are my FAVORITE animal. Beautiful, cunning, and an apex predator. By far the most amazing animal on earth.
