Answer:
The international date line is an imaginary line of demarcation on the surface of Earth , that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole it also helps to demarcates the change of one calendar day to the next day . It passes through the middle of the Pacific Ocean (following the 180° line of longitude ). To avoid the confusion of having different dates in the same country, the International Date Line bends and goes zig zag patter in some regions, in order to avoid confusions . Hence The date line is necessary to avoid a confusion of date.
