1. Why is magma considered to be like a conveyor belt?

2.What is the difference in the process of a mountain being formed and a volcano being formed?

There are fold mountains and block mountains. Fold mountains are formed when two continental plates converge (for example the continental Indian plate and continental Eurasian plate) These continental plates are too buoyant to subduct beneath each other so they when they converge, compressional forces causes the Indian plate and Eurasian plate to buckle and fold. This forms a fold mountain (Himalayas)
Volcanoes are formed when magma accumulated in the magma chamber rises to the earth’s surface through vents. (For example stratovolcano). The lava has high viscosity so it doesn’t flow easily (as a result it traps gases easily) main vents may be blocked because lava doesn’t flow easily so it solidifies therefore a secondary vent will be formed. When the volcano erupts, pyroclasts are released:)

magma is like that because it moves the tectonic plates under the deep part of earth causing it to have earthquakes etc
