A runner covers the last stretch of a race in 4 seconds, during that time he speeds up from 5 m/s to 9 m/s what is the runners acceleration from this part of the race?

Explanation:

the formula for acceleration is change in velocity divided by time

the change in velocity is 4m/s (subtract 5 from 9)

the change in time is 4 seconds

so 4m/s ÷ 4s

this gives you 1m/s^2
