question is worth exactly 5 points. What would be Penelope's test score (out of 40) if
she got 3 questions wrong? What would be her score if she got x questions wrong?

write a proportion where 8-3/8=y/100 (it’s 8-3 because it’s total question minus the wrong questions and you’ll get the remaining points and put it over a hundred since the max score you can get is a hundred.

so 5/8= y/100

cross multiply

500=8y

Divide 8 on both sides

you’ll get 62.5
